Question1: When do we round a number up?

Answer: We round a number up if the digit we are rounding is followed by 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9.
Example 1: Tell whether the given number is to be rounded up or not.
The underlined digit is the digit to be rounded off.
34 567
Answer: 34 567 will be rounded up because the digit 4, which is the digit to be rounded off, is followed by 5.

Question2: What are the steps to follow if we round a number up?

When we round a number up, we follow the following steps:
Step 1. Add 1 to the digit that we are rounding.
Step 2. Change all the digits to its right into zero (0).
Step 3. Copy the digit/digits to its left.
