International Math Day Celebration

__________ Elementary School celebrates International Day of Mathematics  2025!

The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is celebrated annually on March 14. This date, written as 3/14, was chosen because it represents the mathematical constant π (pi), making it widely recognized as Pi Day in many countries.

The idea for an official global celebration was proposed by the International Mathematical Union (IMU). In November 2019, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) proclaimed March 14 as the International Day of Mathematics during its 40th General Conference.

The first official IDM was celebrated in 2020, with the theme “Mathematics is Everywhere.” Each year, IDM promotes awareness of the importance of mathematics in science, technology, and daily life through various global activities and educational events.
